LIONEL LINES 2436 SUMMIT OBSERVATION CAR

Built from 1954 until 1956. Red letter O-27 observation car in silver. Includes diecast trucks and operating couplers, illuminated interior, and silhouetted window. Lionel introduced the 2400 series molded plastic streamlined passenger cars in 1948. Based on a Pullman - standard design. The series ran basically unchanged except for the color scheme through until 1966. All pre-1959 production was designated "LIONEL LINES" and, except for the 2436 "Mooseheart", all cars were named for New Jersey towns near the Lionel factory in Irvington. The "Elizabeth" is the rarest in this series. It is atypical to find one of these cars without at least a couple of small blemishes.
