LIONEL 3434 OPERATING POULTRY DISPATCH CAR WITH BLUE MAN

 

This interesting operating car featured a spring- loaded man that was also suspended from a spring. Releasing the mechanism by means of an operating track section caused the door to open and the figure to gyrate - as if sweeping out the inside of the car. Two bulbs illuminated the interior of the car and the light shone out through "windows" printed with colorful chickens. The sweeper figure in this car is made out of blue rubber with painted face and hands. The later version replaced the blue man with an over-all gray man.
