Lionel 746W PINK

PINK NORFOLK AND WESTERN LONG STRIPE TENDER

The man who was manager of the Lionel Hot Stamping Department sold this to Don Shaw in the late 70's
  • He told Don that he made 10 on a work order, and that Joshua Lionel Cowen gave him one of the ten
  • It is believed these were considered for the girl's set (the manager himself did not know this or report this to Don)
  • Markings are heat stamped and the tender has tooling characterists and marks that are identical with regular production models of the N&W long stripe tenders
  • These characteristics include the thinning of the yellow stripe highlighted by the arrow, as observed on other long stripe tenders
  • The box is marked with an X
