| Lionel first designed and produced this Pennsylvania all-metal caboose in one of two attempts to make a more realistic looking caboose from metal, and before the advent of plasticIt is one of our all time favorites, fun, uniique, and extremely well proportionedProduced in 1941 and 1942 in tuscan with white lettering and tinplate trucks with automatic couplersIt was produced again in 1945 (Post-War #2457), type 1) with identical tuscan paint and markings, but with Post-War (flying shoe) knuckle couplersBoth were numbered "477618" on the sidesThere are no marks or scratches on this gorgeous and obscure specimen which comes with the box (missing some flaps).
