| The uncataloged Boston and Maine 226 Alco was Produced in 1960 as an AB, and the 217 AB was cataloged in 1959We are happy to offer an AB combination of a 226 powered unit combined with a 217 B&M B unit 226 locos were only available as a part of three uncatalogued sets. Two were sets X576 and 577 distributed by Madison Hardware onlyThe A unit has a crack in the strut under the front coupler, a 1/2 inch vertical paint spillwith 2 1/4 inch arms to the left of the door in the middle of fthe loco going into the motor compartment and some 'blemishes on the side in the black paint forward of the fireman's windowsThe 217 B unit is like new and the defects on the A unit could never be seen running on a layout so a rating of excellent (C7) seems appropriate for this mixed pair which might have been shipped for the factory this way (the 217 was produced in 1959 and the 226 in 1960 so they shipped extra 217 B units with the 226 Alcos We have rarely seen 226's in our 44 years in business.
