2330 GREEN FIVE STRIPED PENNSYLVANIA GG-1 - 1950 ONLY!

| This 2330 GG1 was never run and is graded Mint (C10) with original box2330 green five stripe GG1's were produced in 1950 only - they were a totally new design with two motors and MagnetractonThe 2330 replaced the prior five stripe 2332 GG1, which had only one motor and lacked MagnetractionIt has always been virtually impossible to find a 2330 because the Korean war (which began in June of 1950)) created supply chain shortages and sharply curtailed production of what was sure to have been a tremendous sellerGG1 production was not resumed until 1954, when the 2340 was producedDiscontinuities and variations in the intensity of the stripes are a characteristic of the Lionel rubber-stamping manufacturing process and are on many GG1's - further aggravated when they were handled and rubbed off by little fingers and adult fingers! GG1's without these intensity variations generally are repaints with perfect silk screened stripes. The stripes on this 2330 are no exception - the photos clearly show the intensity variations as well as areas where they were not appliedThese areas may be the reason it is Mint - it might have been returned unused for replacement by the first buyer but never sent back to the factory for replacement - with a very lucky collector getting it many years later!Notwithstanding, this is a stunningly beautiful GG1, with no marks or scratches and never on the railsComes with original box.
