| Graded as Like New (C8) condition with virtually perfect paint and original box with linerThe Irvington, Madison and Manhattan cars were collectively known as the "Madison" cars, and all three names were produced with the same number (2825). The Madison and Manhattan cars were also produced with numbers 2627 and 2628 respectivelyMolded in Bakelite (the "first plastic"!), the paint flaked off cars that were not perfectly clean before painting, and few exist today with complete paintThis one is a "type 1", with the first "L" of "LIONEL LINES" located to the left of the first window in the center window groupOriginal boxes for these cars are difficult to find; this one includes the liner and has both outside end flaps labeled 2625. It is missing two inside flaps - we taped all inside seams to prevent any further loss. DNS. |
