| Finding a Budd 404 powered baggage car in spectacularly nice Like New (C8) condition (and with a sheet of Lionel paper too!) is an event worthy of celebrationThe ribs and plastic detail of the body are very vulnerable to damage even in a minor wreckThis unit has been run very little, possibly only test run, and is one of the nicest we have EVER seen with no body damage whatsoeverManufactured in 1957 and 1958, very few were made compared to the 400 powered passenger carSimilarly, Budd made very few powered baggage cars compared to the self propelled passenger carsBudd cars are especially attractive on any layout or display shelfThey were made to provide railroads with a single, self-propelled passenger car for use on lines not needing two or more passenger cars, but could be ganged together into trains with two or more cars.
