ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT FOR THE LIONEL ELECTRONIC SET.
|
This is the electronic control unit (ECU) for the electronic sets made in 1947 (4109) and 1948 (4110), both using a 671R turbine locoIt used a 6L6 vacuum tube - we do not know if this one works (we haven't seen a car that needed this test unit in many years), or if you could find a 6L6 today you could bring the unit back into operationThe silver surface plate has complete lettering but is a little tarnished causing us to grade it Excellent (C7)Never offered for separate sale, but was included with all Electronic Control train sets. Contained a vacuum tube and electronic circuitry that generated a different frequency signal for each of generated a different frequency signal for each of its' 10 buttons. Miniature receivers in each special car of these sets were tuned to receive their own frequencies corresponding to one of the colored buttons. All functions, uncouplng, unloading, and direction were controlled this way anywhere on the layout, without the need for uncoupling tracks etc.Again, please note the unit is not guaranteed. DNS. |
