| Although graded Like New, this Blair Manor Canadian Pacific car may have been test run only and might be considered Mint because some wheels show no signs of runningIt is especially noteworthy because we can't find any significant scratches on the car (most aluminum passenger cars left the factory with one or more scratches because of how they were handled at the factory)It appears, however, that the metal maroon strip on one side has been removed and reset, but was offset as shown. Authenticity is assured because the car has factory original metal maroon stripes instead of reproduction paper stripes made and used by fakersBox is a reproductionMade in 1957 only, this Pullman matches 2551/2552 cars in the Canadian Pacific set. The 2551 "Banff Park" observation and 2552 "Skyline 500" Vista Dome were supplied in sets, while the 2553 "Blair Manor" and 2554 "Craig Manor" Pullmans were available for separate sale. As a result, many more 2551 and 2552's were sold, and the 2553 and 2554's are quite rare. |
