| Built in 1955, this piece is in Like New condition and is one of the most sought after pieces of Post-War rolling stock It probably was never sold seperately and was only issued as part of the Santa Fe O27 set 1535W from 1955 According to the Doyle set book, the 1535W was shown in the advanced catalog with a carry-over 6464-50 Minneapolis and St. Louis box car. However, it is believed that they ran out of those box cars too quickly to fill all of the orders, so they painted some of the blue 6468's brown to keep the color the same as shown in the catalog The car body is a modified 6464-style double-door automobile box car. It is painted tuscan on a black body mold with white, heat-stamped lettering. Car is actually numbered "6468".This is a must-have piece for true collectors!Original box is complete with all flaps including spacer flaps. One end flap has seperated and was retaped inside with scotch tape by the original ownerWe retaped all remaining flaps to revent any further detachment fron this rare boxThis is only the fourth tuscan B&O we have ever had for sale - it is much much rarer than the B&O Sentinal! |
